DME Operations Supervisor (Remote In FL, GA & KY)
Job Summary
We are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Operations Supervisor to help drive the success of our fully remote Durable Medical Equipment (DME) operations. This role plays a key part in supporting staff, streamlining workflows, and ensuring timely, accurate case processing. Strong knowledge of insurance procedures, prior authorizations, and compliance is essential.
Compensation starts at $65,000 per year, with a generous bonus structure based on Ready-to-Bill (RTB) case volume.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Patient Care and Support:
Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility.
Review medical records to determine the need for prior authorization.
Submit and follow up on prior authorization requests with insurance companies.
Provide timely updates to patients and healthcare providers regarding authorization statuses.
Collaborate with providers to obtain all necessary documentation for authorizations.
Maintain accurate records of all care coordination and authorization activities.
Stay current with insurance policies and guidelines related to DME services.
Communicate effectively with insurance representatives to resolve authorization issues.
Support internal operations personnel with case coordination and process questions.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all applicable healthcare regulations.
Minimum Qualifications:
3+ years of experience as a DME Operations Supervisor or in a similar healthcare operations role.
Strong experience working with workers’ compensation insurance, including familiarity with related processes and requirements in a healthcare or DME setting.
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
Strong knowledge of insurance verification, prior authorizations, and medical documentation requirements.
Familiarity with ICD-10 coding and medical terminology.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and healthcare software systems.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage high-volume workflows.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws.
Strong customer service orientation and professional demeanor.
